Eir is the Norse Goddess of healing and health, but she is also a Valkyrie. She looks after those who give birth, has control over life and death, and was revered as a life-giver in the family home and courts of kings.
Eir knew the medicinal properties of herbs and was capable of resurrection. As a chooser of life and death, she is sometimes associated with the Norns who rule the destiny of gods and men.
